'People are intimidated' - the reasons 'unstoppable force' Arsenal have become the team to beat.

There's little doubt why Arsenal have become numerous fans' favorites to claim the Premier League this season.

Look at their performances against Fulham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those same matches during the prior term.

The Gunners have beaten all of them in the current season, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they fell away in the title race in the prior campaign.

Defensive Strength

Arsenal's backline resilience is a primary factor why they are looking well positioned to at last realize their title ambition.

They lead the league for clean sheets (6), goals conceded (3), opposition efforts (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and anticipated concessions (5.3).

The center-back duo of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the finest in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Dominance

Their effectiveness from free kicks is widely recognized, but competing clubs still find it difficult to stop the Gunners from these chances.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals resulting from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a intimidation presence. People are just afraid of them and it is wonderful to see."

Title Claims

What is particularly remarkable about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also encountered Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still ahead by four points at the top.

While they maintain victories, their historic competitors face difficulties. This marks the premier instance at this stage of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The expectations was on head coach Mikel Arteta at the beginning, having invested around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in quest of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the investment has so far proven successful in style, with his side second top scorers in the league and having the tightest defense, despite numerous injuries.

  • Clean sheets in each of their last three Premier League games
  • Over six hours without allowing a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and pundits have characterized Arteta's men as a "powerhouse, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now operating with conviction and determination.
